Pupil Premium Policy

Rationale
We are a caring, happy and friendly school with a family atmosphere. We are committed to providing each of our pupils with the best possible start to their school life in order to achieve their true potential.The targeted and strategic use of pupil premium will support us in achieving our vision.

Principles

  • Quality first teaching and learning opportunities meets the needs of all pupils.
  • To ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring that the needs of socially disdavantaged pupils are adequately assessed and met.
  • Pupil premium funding will be allocated following the action plan outlined below, this identifies priorities, groups or individuals.
  • The pupil premium co-ordinator (headteacher) is responsibile for the action plan and the completion of reviews and evaluations, which is reported to the Governors. This report will be based on the progress made towards narrowing the gap, by year group, for socially disadvantaged pupils.


Provision

  • 1-1 support
  • Additional teaching and learning opportunities provided by class teachers, trained TAs or external agencies.
  • Extended school support
  • Aim to accelerate progress - moving children to at least age related expectations.
  • Pupil premium resources may also target able and gifted children on FSM.
