Year 5/6 Tag Rugby Competition @ Marl Pits


The year 5/6 Tag Rugby team did the school proud on a very warm Thursday evening at Marl Pits. They got stronger and stronger as the competition went on - meaning they eventually reached the final of the competition. Unfortunately, the children lost in the final to Norden but to come runners up in the overall competition with 12 schools present is fantastic in itself and what a great effort by all these children.

Year 3/4 Gymnastics Competition @ Fearns Community College


More great news followed for Water on Tuesday evening by our year 3/4 Gymnastics team getting SILVER medal in the overall competition. The children all had to learn their routine and put it on both the floor and vault infront of many spectators. The children all scored such high individual scores infront of the judges that as a school we got runners up and the SILVER medal. Amazing from all of you!

Year 5/6 Girls Cricket Competition @ Fearns Community College


The year 5/6 girls cricket team were fantastic in their competition on Friday evening at Fearns. The children all bowled, batted and fielded extremely well - meaning they ended up getting through to the overall final. Unfortunately we did get beat in the final but we are still very proud of their efforts and achievements in the overall competition.

Cross Country Competition @ Marl Pits


Our Cross Country squad all put in a fantastic effort in their competition on Thursday evening at Marl Pits. Also, a special mention to Ethan Fourie who finished in a superb 13th position which therefore means he has qualifed to represent Water at the Rossendale finals.

Year 5/6 Tri Golf Competition @ Fearns Community College


Well done to all the children who participated in the Tri Golf on Friday evening at Fearns. They all enjoyed it thoroughly and were a credit to the school.

Year 3/4 Tri Golf Competition @ Fearns Community College


Well done to our year 3/4 Tri Golf team who did fantastic in their competition on Monday evening. The children all learnt new shots and skills as the night went on and also had to hit and putt the ball from short to longer, trickier distances away and were very close to earning themselves the bronze medal. However, the team and as a school, Water, finished the night in a very satisfying 5th position out of the 12 schools that entered. Well done all of you and thank you to Rossendale Sports Partnership too!

Year 5 Mixed Cricket Competition @ Bacup Cricket Club


Year 5/6 High Five Netball Competition @ Fearns Community College


Special congratulations to our year 5/6 Netball team who have qualified for the borough finals competition after a fantastic all round display on Thursday night at Fearns Community College. The children won all 3 of their games - thus meaning we will now compete in the next stage of the competition for a chance to represent Rossendale in the Lancashire Finals.. Good luck guys!

Orienteering Competition @ Marl Pits


All our children who participated in the Orienteering competition at Marl Pits had a great time on Thursday evening. They all worked well as a team searching for the correct symbols by using their maps. Well done guys, hope you enjoyed yourselves!

Year 5/6 Girls Football Competition @ Fearns Community College


Our year 5/6 girls football team enjoyed their competition on a warm Friday evening at Fearns Community College on the 3G pitch. The girls played some excellent football and learnt lots too - learning how to pass, tackle and shoot throughout their games. The girls played 3 matches throughout the evening - winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 1 which therefore meant they narrowly missed out on going through to the next stage. However the girls all did fantastic and also a huge thank you to Rossendale Sports Partnership for giving our girls an opportunity to play some footy!

Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics Small Schools Final @ Fearns Community College


A huge congratulations to the NEW small schools Athletics champions, who yet again did the school extremely proud on Tuesday evening with a fine all round team performance. To get to this stage meant we had to win the first stage of the competition 2 weeks prior to this event. However, yet again - the children all performed to a very high ability throughout all of their heats which therefore meant that we won the overall event pipping St Peter's into the GOLD medal position. Well done to all 12 of you, who have done your school and more importantly yourselves proud! Usain Bolt better watch out!!


Year 5/6 Mixed Basketball Competition @ Fearns Community College


The year 5/6 Basketball team enjoyed their competition on Friday evening. All of them learnt new skills as the tournament went on - getting better and better too. They won their first 2 group games before narrowly losing their third group stage match. Unfortunately, this prevented the children from going through to the final. However the children all enjoyed themselves learning how to play Basketball and were a credit to the school throughout the competition.


Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics Small Schools Competition @ Fearns Community College


Our year 3/4 mixed Athletics team did us proud yet again on Friday evening at Fearns Community College with a superb all round performance to win us the small schools Athletics competition. All 12 of these children performed to a very high ability throughout all their events - thus meaning that we came away winning the overall event. The children can now look forward to the small schools finals night on Tuesday 21st March. Well done everyone!

Year 3/4 Sportshall Athletics Competition @ Fearns Community College


Well done to all 18 of these year 3/4 children who did Water proud on Friday night at Fearns Community College in the Sportshall Athletics. All of our children competed in both the boys and girls heats and performed to such a high ability - completing high individual and team scores in all of their running, throwing and jumping events meant we narrowly pipped Britannia to win the event. Fantastic effort everyone!

Year 5/6 Boys Table Tennis Competition @ Fearns Community College


Well done to Ethan and Billy who claimed second place for Water in the year 5/6 boys Table Tennis competition on Tuesday evening.

Well done to the mixed year 3/4 Cricket team who won their competition at Fearns Community College. The children all bowled, batted and fielded excellently, meaning that we beat Edenfield by just 2 runs in the final to win the competition. Well done to all of you!

Burnley FC vs Manchester City - Matchday Experience


Thank you to all the children and parents who joined us for the Burnley FC vs Man City Premier League Matchday Experience on Saturday. All the children had a fantastic time - learning new skills in the Elite Training Centre before participating in the 'Guard of Honour' and half time football match on the pitch. What a fantastic experience for everyone involved and you represented Water magnificently.
